Jewellery Care & Cleaning Guide
To keep your Castel & Co. pieces looking their best for years to come, we recommend following these simple care instructions.
The "Last On, First Off" Rule
Always put your jewellery on last after applying perfumes, lotions, or hairspray. These chemicals can dull the finish of gold plating and sterling silver. Remove your jewellery first before showering, swimming, or exercising to avoid exposure to moisture and sweat.
General Cleaning
For a gentle deep clean, soak your jewellery in a bowl of lukewarm water with a few drops of mild, fragrance-free dish soap for 5–10 minutes. Use a very soft-bristled toothbrush to gently clean intricate details. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry immediately with a lint-free cloth. Never leave items to air dry as this can cause water spots.
Special Care for Stones and Pearl Products
Do not submerge them in water or use soaps. Simply wipe them with a clean, damp cloth after wearing to remove skin oils. Avoid using "jewellery dips" or abrasive cleaners (like baking soda) on plated items or gemstones, as these can strip the finish.
Safe Storage
When not in use, store your pieces individually in their original Castel & Co box. This prevents tangling and protects the metal from being scratched by other items. Store in a cool, dry, and airtight environment will help slow down natural oxidation.
